Calm National Parks As well as surrounding major sea lion and seabird breeding areas, the park contains beautiful temperate reefs populated with a unique mix of temperate and tropical plants and animals, courtesy of the Leeuwin current. The area is also home to extensive seagrass meadows, which are vital nursery habitats for juvenile western rock lobsters.
Jurien Bay District High School Jurien Bay District High School is located on the Turquoise Coast 265 kilometres north of Perth and 200 kilometres south of Geraldton. It is located in the Mid West Education District. The school caters for students from Jurien Bay, Leeman, Green Head and Cervantes and the surrounding farming districts.
Jurien Bay Tourist Park The townsite of Jurien is the largest along this stretch of the coast and is very popular as a holiday, tourist and fishing destination. It is situated 266kms north of Perth via the Brand Highway, which is a leisurely three hour drive. Jurien is the home port for a large rock lobster fishing fleet
Dandaragan Council The name Dandaragan is derived from the title of a watering hole, 9km north of the present townsite of Dandaragan, called “Dandaraga” Spring, which, according to local Aboriginal language, meant “good kangaroo” country.
