His photographic experience started in 1975 with a box brownie camera, with which, he customised a tripod. His computer knowledge began in 1984 with his first computer, the Commodore64, over the years the equipment changed, expanded and his knowledge grew. Today's quality of camera's have evolved to high definition digital now. He was involved in the Albany Computer Club formerly Albany Amiga User Group from 1991 to 1998, from there he developed a business called Ayse Computer Assistance, this business running strong, offering computer tutoring, repairs, sales and service, this knowledge has greatly aided in the efficiency of his work today. The Computer Assistance income has funded other projects, such as; In 2003 he compiling a DVD of photos, the first DVD never made it to the puplic market, the second called Albany Region DVD (1) was created in a professional way with music to the voiceover in the background and a story like appeal, aided by Mrs Beth Martin and final editing with Mrs Peggy Rees. This DVD covers 300kms of coastline, Albany, Denmark, Mt Barker, Walpole and Bremer Bay included, selling over 1000 copies which later were included in DVD3 Paradise Found, that had DVD1 & 2's main features combined along with the history of Viticulture and more, DVD3 contained an awesome equivalent of 1,500 separate images, selling around 2000 copies to today. In 2007, Albany Region DVD4 was created over an 8 month period, which was filmed in High Definition video; this compilation has the best footage of what was collected during the 8 months. Albany Region products then grew, with the Great Southern Flora DVD, now covering the entire South-West quarter of Western Australia, broken into 5 different categories, included original bird songs, common and scientific naming. In mid 2008, David applied for a tourism award, only on the Albany Region DVD4, he became a finalist one of 11 in the categorie. In July 2008 after a Tour Company from Albany offered to take some of his DVDs to Esperance, to see if they could talk them in to selling the DVDs; after arriving they changed their approach and said to the manager at the time ‘German Ugarte’, “don’t think of it as something you could sell, but think of it as something David could do for you”, after that German began to think and was very interested. In early November 2008, filming began with an affordable system never tried anywhere before, this system evolved as the project began, various glitches came about and were adjusted, Bay Of Islands Bed & Breakfast and Tranquil Retreat Bed & Breakfast offered David's accommodation, free, while he created the DVD, B&B By The Sea also offered later in production, in return David would help them with computer assistance, webpage and new business photos for their brochures etc. These businesses are the highest supporters of the "Esperance – Out of the way, out of this world DVD", released on the 4th of September, 2009 at the new Esperance Bird & Animal Park. All copy protected, is now destined for other regions, it makes it much more affordable to have rural DVDs created. To find out more: see our brochure I and brochure II Work continues…….
Latest Achievements Future During November the WA Tourism Finalist DVD was broken up into 5 separate DVDs, one for each town originally covered on the single DVD, some new footage was added and each DVD arranged to suit each town (Denmark, Mt Barker, Albany, Walpole and Bremer Bay), over past years experience, David's found that no town wants to promote the other, all want to be the base of which to see all of the region. To see everything on each DVD, would take months, if not years. In 2010 David plans on applying for the WA Tourism Awards again, this time involving the DVD systems and all the DVD products in one big picture. February 2010, David's been invited to stay at the Kalbarri Palm Resort for 6 days to create some internet videos for their town and business, during the time there the "Kalbarri - Jewel of the Coral Coast DVD" will be enhanced and modified to include the resort as a place to stay and more (Stay Tuned!).
